Conditions of Consignment

 

Our Inventory of Private Party Consignment Galleria are from individuals who find us on the internet, pianos are also obtained through referrals from many of personal friends in the industry such as Piano Teachers, Technicians and Movers. Most of our inventory is privately owned. Pianos are not consigned on a percentage basis. Instead, the consignor is guaranteed that they will receive a specific amount of money following sale of their piano.  This allows the store to reduce the price of a piano without affecting the amount of money the consignor receives.

How our consignment process works

It usually starts with a telephone call or an email. There are many questions for the customer to answer  about the instrument in order to decide if it will be an appropriate inventory choice. Customers usually have questions about the store, as well. Then an appointment can be made for us to thoroughly inspect the instrument. It's not unusual for several pianos to be offered to the store each day. When there is no room in the store to bring a piano into the inventory, a waiting list is kept.

We here at playerpianos.com will determine the selling price of your items at approximately 1/3 of retail value and make decisions regarding quality control. You receive 50% of the selling price. Items are consigned for 90 days. Your consignment period is shortened if items are brought in less than 60 days before our storewide sales (always the second Thursday of January and July). Each time you bring in your items, you begin a new 90-day contract period.  Items that do not sell in 60 days are reduced 50%. After 90 days, items unsold and unclaimed are not credited to your account and may be given to charity. It is your responsibility to locate and pick up unsold items you want back prior to their expiration date.  Unacceptable or damaged items are given to charity or reduced in price. Items are subject to a 10% reduction at all times. The terms and conditions of this contract will remain in effect until further notice. Playerpianos.com acts as your broker and will insure the piano under our $5,000,000.00 liability insurance policy.  We are careful and trustworthy.  We have over 10,000 active accounts. You can stop in to check on your account or use our website.  Money in your account may be issued as a check or used for store credit.  If you prefer we will mail a check to you at the end of the consignment period for a 75¢ service charge.  Please keep your receipt. I have read and agree to the conditions and terms of this contract. I understand that Nu Look is not liable for theft or damage.

ONLINE: When our showroom is full of merchandise. Our Website welcomes our second showroom, actually this showroom has a lot more traffic, on average there are over 4,000 visits to our website daily. We consider our self's very lucky to get 1 to 3 customer per day to come into our showroom. So perhaps having your instruments on our website is better just because there is so much traffic.

Once an agreement has been reached (by both the store and the customer) to proceed with consignment, in our showroom or the web the store makes arrangements for the instrument to be transported from the customer's home by a professional piano mover local moves are generally around $150.00, out of the area the move would be more and quoted before the pickup.
